I haven't updated this blog lately due to some valid reasons but I will definitely do my best to share my world (life and thoughts) to you. And since, it was Sunday yesterday I had a great Feast day! For some of you who haven't heard 'The Feast' yet, it is a weekly Catholic prayer meeting of the Light of Jesus community led by Bro. Bo Sanchez. I have been attending (hopefully will serve soon) for more than two years now. And my life has never been the same again because I believe God is working on me. I'm excited for the overflowing blessings! :D Oh yes, in God's perfect time. I claim it!
I am so much blessed because I know God's anointing took place. And what I am going to share with you now is what Bro. Bogs, one of the preachers, talked about the third series of 'Life Savor' entitled Practice Self-Care: Love Yourself by Honoring Your Needs. Here are the highlights of his talk:
from: google photo |
- Fill up your love tank. You cannot give love if you don't love.
- For someone to show you love, he/she has to be there.
- For parents: give time to talk with your child. Talk about dreams, passions, etc. Don't be physically present but emotionally absent. Do care for your child's emotions. Let them feel that they are important to you.
- Know how to accept yourself but having a 'love yourself' spirituality.
- Five Needs that you usually neglect:
- You need rest. Take mini-vacations. Stop/pause and breathe daily.
- You need dreams. This will keep you inspired the moment you wake up. If you think your dreams turn into reality, dream some more!
- You need to be YOU. Magpakatotoo ka. Don't pretend and try to be someone else. Be faithful for who you are. Be faithful for your personality. Be You!
- You need money. Money is not the most important thing in the world but it affects all the important things in your life. How can you be able to pursue your dreams for your family (i.e. date with your parents, travel with them) if you don't have money?
- You need love. Well, I believe this is the most important thing in the world!
At the end of the talk, they showed us a video about a letter to a child written by his/her parents. When I was about to read it, tears started to flow from my eyes. I'm very weak especially when it comes to my family--my parents. The moral lesson of the video is that we really have to value the time we have and show how much we really love them as much as we can.
Til my next post. My clocks reads 2:53am, 28th May.
xoxo
